DESCRIPTION

ASI 335 Window Seal is a high-performance one-part silicone sealant that reacts with moisture at ambient temperatures to form an attractive, color-stable, durable, highly flexible rubber seal with excellent movement capabilities (+50%, -50%). ASI 335 Window Seal has good adhesion to nonporous surfaces such as glass, metals and plastics, as well as porous surfaces, vinyl, concrete and mortar.

SPECIFICATIONS

ASI 335 Window Seal meets or exceeds the requirements of federal specifications TT-S-00230c (COM-NBS) Type II, Class A for one component elastomeric building sealants, TT-S-001543a (COM-NBS), for silicone building sealants.

GENERAL USES

ASI 335 Window Seal is primarily in-tended for use in perimeter sealing of window and door frames, butt glazing, 2-sided structural glazing, dual seal insulated glass units, in expansion and construction joints in masonry or metal building panels and sealing curtain wall joints where the medium modulus flexibility is beneficial. Pre-application testing to determine feasibility of use in a given application is recommended prior to actual use.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Provided that all bonding surfaces are clean and dry, ASI 335 Window Seal has excellent unprimed adhesion to most substrates. If there is any doubt about contamination, surfaces should be solvent wiped with oil-free solvents, such as xylol, toluol, naphtha or nonflammable chlorinated solvents. Do not solvent wipe with oil-based solvents such as Varsol.

PRIMING

Priming for ASI 335 Window Seal is normally not required for application to most substrates. Unprimed adhesion can be readily tested by applying a small trial bead and allowing 7 days for maximum adhesion to occur. ASI 335 Window Seal has excellent unprimed adhesion to many substrates as shown in the adhesion chart.

PAINTING

ASI 335 Window Seal should not be applied to surfaces that will be painted. Painting over sealant is not recommended because paint film does not stretch with the extension of the sealant and the adhesion of paint to the sealant is not adequate.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

ASI 335 Window Seal, when stored in original unopened container at or below 32°C (90°F), has a shelf life of 12 months from date of shipment.

PACKAGING

ASI 335 Window Seal is supplied in (10.2 fl. oz.) caulking cartridge; (40 lb.) pail and (440 lb.) drum.

WARRANTY AND LIMITATIONS

ASI warrants that its products will meet its specifications. ASI shall in no event be liable for incidental or consequential damages. Except as expressly stipulated, ASI’s liability, expressed or implied, is limited to the stated selling price of any detective goods.
