ASI 504 RTV Commercial Silicone is a one part low modules silicone. The ASI 504 has been developed to surpass...

ASI 504 RTV Commercial Silicone is a one part low modules silicone. The ASI 504 has been developed to surpass other silicone/sealant materials in the market that contain harmful solvents, Isocyanates, and other chemicals that affect weathering and the long term durability of the silicone. The ASI 504 is a LOW VOC, multi-purpose silicone that out performs the standard silicones seen on the market. Its polymer infused formulation allows it to be versatile enough for large construction applications as well as Industrial OEM uses.

ASI 504 RTV Commercial Silicone Sealant shows excellent resistance to weathering, vibration, moisture, ozone and extreme temperatures. It may be applied in sub-zero weather without loss of extrusion or physical property characteristics.

When ASI 504 is fully cured it can be used for extended periods at temperatures up to 400°F (204°C). Fully cured, ASI 504 has excellent adhesion to glass, metal, porcelain, ceramic, wood, most plastics and many other nonporous substrates.

Common ASI 504 Uses:

ASI 504 is an excellent sealant and/ or adhesive for many Commercial, Industrial, and Construction applications where a long-term, permanently flexible bond or seal is required. Such applications include:

OEM Applications (depending on substrates)

Skylights

HVAC

General Sealing

General Construction

DIRECTIONS

ASI 504 is ready to use and requires no mixing or additives. The cure mechanism begins as soon as the sealant comes in contact with the air. Higher humidity accelerates cure. Tooling, if necessary, should be done before skinning takes place. In applications where partial or total confinement of sealant is prevalent, the time required for proper cure is generally lengthened by the degree of confinement.

1: Clean and dry all surfaces. 2: Cut nozzle to a desired size at a 45 degree angle. 3: Break the foil in the nozzle and apply with the caulking gun, pushing the silicone in the direction of the nozzle.

Note: If tooling is required do so immediately within 10 minutes. Remove excess with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel.

Caution: On contact, uncured silicone sealant irritates eyes. In case of contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly for 15 minutes and seek medical attention immediately. Silicone Sealant may also irritate skin, if irritated remove the sealant from skin and rinse with water. Contact physician if needed. Acetic acid released during application and cure, overexposure may irritate eyes, skin, and nose. Proper ventilation is required.

ASI Silicone for Clothing Material!

American Sealants Inc. has advanced in the exploration of silicone adhesion and promotion to straps, clothes, and other forms of clothing. The uses for this application are endless. We have worked with applications where the silicone will be placed on bras, pants, straps, socks, oven mittens, etc. The silicone is used to provide additional grip and provide other benefits.

Challenges ASI has faced when producing a silicone material for clothing?

We have encountered a number of different requirements when working with the development of our materials. A problem we often see is that the material will not stretch with the fabric. We have produced a silicone that will stretch with the fabric due to its elongation properties. Another problem often encountered is the silicone needs to cure quickly after it is applied. Based on the proper time needed for your specific production needs ASI can recommend a silicone so that cure time is not an issue in your production setting. The ASI silicone for clothing materials will also bead into the fabric. Therefore it will last as long as the fabric and will not peel off like other silicones.

Why Choose ASI silicone for clothing Applications?

ASI has the technical knowledge and testing facilities to find the right solution for each application. We are a service oriented company and will work with the customer to develop efficient supply systems. Here at ASI we use quality to separate ourselves from our competitors and it is guaranteed to show in our products, packaging, and our people.

For more information or to have your questions answered please use the contact us form found on this website or call Andrew at 260-489-0728.

ASI Window Sealant AAMA Approved!!

American Sealants Inc. has just received three new AAMA approvals. The following are the new AAMA approval listings; 802.3-10, 803.3-10, 805.2-10. ASI Window Sealant has proven durability, bonding capability, consistency, and it is AAMA approved. ASI Window Sealant is available in a variety of different colors including, white, flat white, blue white, bronze, cocoa, clear, beige, canvas, terratone, sandstone renewal, and sandstone. We also have custom color matching capabilities. Our window caulk is 100% silicone. It will not shrivel like other products on the market and dry out which leads to cracking. Instead, because it is 100% silicone, what you see when you apply is what you will get. We also add quality in the way we fill our window caulk cartridges. We do not simply fill a cartridge and package it, instead there are a system of quality control points in which we check for errors in the product. This is why you will not have air bubbles when you are caulking with ASI Window Sealant. These are just a few reasons why you should trust and use ASI Window Sealant for your next job!

ASI 388 is an electronic grade silicone and is offered as a substitute for GE 162 electronic grade silicone.

ASI 388 is a one-part, moisture- curing RTV (room temperature vulcanizing) silicone sealant! adhesive that is non-slump and cures to form a tough, permanently flexible rubber.

The non-corrosive curing system of ASI 388 makes it ideally suited for protecting, sealing and insulating corrosion-sensitive electronic and electrical materials such as copper, brass, silver, etc.

ASI 388 has been specifically formulated for use in electrical/electronic

production and assembly because it:

• has good dielectric properties

• has high surface resistivity

• resists electrical tracking

• repels water to protect electrical properties

ASI 388 is a neutral-cure silicone that emits no objectionable odors during cure and is ideally suited for use in confined areas. However, adequate ventilation should be provided when ASI 388 is used in large-scale production.

ASI 388 is a 100% silicone and has

excellent resistance to

• ozone

• UV

• airborne chemicals

• temperature changes from -57 C to +204°C (-70°F to +400°F)

TYPICAL USES

ASI 388 is an excellent sealant/adhesive for many electrical and electronic applications where corrosion to

metals, particularly copper, brass, silver, etc., is a problem. Such applications include:

• lead-wire entries

• conduit terminal boxes

• component mounting

• electrical connections

• conduit ends

• splices

• cover plates

• coaxial cable connectors

• printed circuit boards

• conductor entry holes

SURFACE PREPARATION

All surfaces should be clean and dry. It is recommended that bonding surfaces be solvent wiped with oil-free solvents, such as xylol, toluol naphtha or non-flammable chlorinated solvents. Do not wipe with oil-based solvents such as Varsol. Allow surface to dry thoroughly before applying sealant.

DIRECTIONS

ASI 388 is ready to use and requires no mixing or additives. The cure mechanism begins as soon as the sealant comes in contact with the air. At conditions of 25 C (77° F) and 50% relative humidity, the sealant will skin in 15 minutes and fully cure within 48 hours (1/8 bead).

Information on this data sheet is subject to change without notice and it is therefore recommended that this information not be used for spec writing. For additional information or specific applications, contact manufacture.

Higher humidity accelerates cure. Tooling should be done before skinning takes place.

In applications where partial total confinement of sealant is prevalent, the time required for proper cure is lengthened by the degree of confinement.

PRIMING

Priming of ASI 388 is normally not required for application to most substrates.

Dear ASI,

I appreciate good design, but often some of the best appears in areas too insignificant to be noticed. This is the case for the packaging design of the 2.8 oz. tube for #388 non-corrosive sealant.

We use it inside as shell enclosure for a UHF antenna matching network to seal soldered coaxial cable junctions. It was chosen for its non-corrosive and electrical properties, for which it does well. But, in using it, I have come to appreciate the tube nozzle and cap design which permits applying exactly the right amount to the right places and then resealing without the product hardening in the nozzle between times of usage. A small thing, but it was a problem in the past with other products. It speeds things up, improved the result and reduces waste and cleanup. It’s a bit of good engineering that might otherwise get overlooked.

I wonder if you could pass this along to those down the line who were responsible. I appreciate their good work.

Orbra Bliss, Engineer

ASI has recently been formulating a new product ASI 506! Based on market research we have decided that a new low-slump material needs to be added to our product line. This material will have some characteristics of a self leveling silicone but with a different set of adhesion purposes. It will be a low-slump cost effective material for specialty markets. ASI 506 is also formulated to have more adhesion characteristics than normal silicone. It will adhere and slump to cloth, cotton, polyester, other clothing materials, glass, most plastics, wood, metal, brass and many other specific applications. ASI 506 is available now and will appear online soon!
